Travel Diaries: British Virgin Islands

Have you ever wanted to get away? Like really get away. Don’t get me wrong, visiting new cities or going to the hottest music festivals are always a good time, but sometimes it’s nice to just… escape.

With so much happening in the world, there must be a place to completely turn off, unwind. Although we arrived in the British Virgin Islands to shoot our 2022 Pisces Princess collection, the experience left us with so much more.

Come along on our journey with us, we have a lot to discuss.

Long Bay Beach Resort

Nestled on a private little stretch of coast in the Caribbean there lives an extraordinary island paradise. It’s an unimaginable getaway featuring white sand beaches, crystal clear water, island adventures, and the most perfect modern boho-chic bungalows. Without the craziness of an over-populated tourist trap, there’s so much more room to really enjoy everything Long Bay Beach Resort has to offer. It’s truly an honor to be able to share our experience with such a dreamy hideaway.

The Rooms

We were absolutely blown away by these rooms. Featuring natural rustic furniture and a panorama view of the coast, the modern boho designed bungalows are the perfect place to return to after a long day of lounging. Our favorite parts of the rooms were the white wood patios and the ocean view shower windows that fog and defog for privacy. The rooms sit right on the beach, which makes photo ops almost too easy.

Mornings in Paradise

The 1748 Coffee Shop located next to the restaurant had everything our team needed to get going on our long day of shooting. An aesthetically pleasing hub with fresh fruit smoothies, chef-made pastries, and locally sourced Caribbean coffees and teas. If you have time, go walk through their garden with your afternoon coffee or spend your morning overlooking the ocean with your favorite book.

Johnny's Beach Bar at Sunset

After taking dreamy photos all day, we headed to Johnny's Beach Bar which features swinging chairs ideal for watching the surfers at sunset. We enjoyed playing games like big Jenga and corn hole on the beach while sipping our signature island cocktails.

After drinks, we headed over to the 1748 Restaurant. The restaurant was once an 18th century rum distillery and still holds its natural coral and limestone walls from hundreds of years ago. The chef prepared a different meal for us every night. All the restaurant's ingredients are locally sourced by island farms and local fisherman. It was some of the best sushi we've ever had!

Free Day

For our day off, the staff at Long Bay scheduled us a private boat tour of some of the British Virgin Islands. There are so many adventurous opportunities around the island including exploring sea caves, snorkeling, and hiking. Don't forget to drive the Moke to Smuggler's Cove — a gorgeous spot with crystalline water and a relaxing atmosphere.
